Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain on Thursday briefed police officers on enhanced security strategies for the annual Amarnath Yatra, highlighting the need for vigilance, especially at vulnerable points.

The 52-day pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine in South Kashmir, starting June 29, requires meticulous planning to ensure safety. Jain stressed the importance of coordination among forces to counter potential threats effectively.

Effective traffic management, crowd control, and disaster readiness were key points of discussion. Jain also underscored the collaboration with health departments to establish medical camps along the route, ensuring emergency medical services are readily available.
