Explosion at Solapur Firecracker Unit Sparks Probe

An explosion occurred at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Solapur's Barshi taluka. No casualties were reported as the unit was shut due to the rainy season. Authorities, including police and fire brigade officials, have launched a probe to investigate the cause of the explosion.

An explosion shook the firecracker manufacturing unit in Maharashtra's Solapur district on Friday morning, police and fire officials reported.

The incident occurred at 10 am in Ghari village, Barshi taluka, approximately 370 km from Mumbai. Thankfully, no casualties were reported as the unit was closed for the rainy season.

Local authorities, including Barshi police and the fire brigade, rushed to the scene and commenced a firefighting and search operation to ensure there were no victims. The explosion was triggered by raw materials stored in two rooms catching fire. An additional Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team has been deployed, and an investigation is underway.
