Sunita Kejriwal Defends CM's Bail Amid ED Controversy

In a sharp rebuke, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, lambasted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday for challenging her husband’s bail order in the high court, likening their actions to treating him as 'India’s most wanted terrorist.'

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) referenced the Rouse Avenue court’s decision to grant bail to Kejriwal, criticizing the BJP and demanding an apology. A Delhi court on Thursday declared that the central probe agency had failed to provide direct evidence connecting the Chief Minister to the crime proceeds in a money laundering case, leading to his bail.

While the ED's plea was being reviewed, the Delhi High Court issued an interim stay on the trial court’s order to release Kejriwal and demanded a response from the Chief Minister on the plea contesting the bail. AAP leaders, including Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, condemned the timing of the ED’s actions, casting them as politically motivated.
