Operation Street Safe: Noida Police Crackdown on Public Drinking

The Gautam Buddh Nagar police booked 497 people for nuisance during their 'Operation Street Safe' campaign aimed at curbing public drinking. The crackdown was carried out across all zones of Noida by the local police, leading to action against numerous individuals under Section 290 of the IPC.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar police launched a significant crackdown on public drinking as part of their 'Operation Street Safe,' booking 497 individuals for public nuisance. This one-day initiative aimed to heighten public safety and curb antisocial behaviors.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vidya Sagar Mishra spearheaded the operation in Noida Zone, leading checks on 1,924 individuals, resulting in 208 actions under Section 290 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The initiative spread across 40 different locations and nine police station areas.

In Central Noida, DCP Suniti supervised activities across 31 locations, leading to action against 146 of the 1,605 individuals checked. Similarly, DCP Saad Miya Khan directed the operation in Greater Noida, encompassing 38 locations and resulting in action against 143 of the 1,925 individuals checked. Overall, the operation checked a total of 5,454 individuals according to official reports.
