Teacher Arrested for POCSO Violations in Himachal

A primary school teacher in Himachal Pradesh has been arrested under the POCSO Act after four girl students reported sexual offences. The police took action after a complaint was lodged via the child helpline. The accused was remanded in police custody for further investigation.

A primary school teacher has been apprehended in Himachal Pradesh for offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

The arrest occurred on Saturday after four female students from a school in the Ladbadol area reported the misconduct, Jogindernagar Station House Officer (SHO) Ashwani Kumar stated.

Following a complaint lodged at the child helpline number 1098, a police team swiftly moved to the location, met the victims, and registered a case at Jogindernagar police station. The teacher was subsequently taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday.
