Three-Tier Security Ensures Safe Amarnath Yatra From June 28

A three-tier security system has been instituted for the Amarnath Yatra base camp in Jammu. The 52-day pilgrimage, commencing from June 28, will follow traditional routes. Police have secured highways, and the camp is monitored round-the-clock with body scanners and CCTV cameras to ensure a safe journey.

A robust three-tier security system has been established at the Amarnath base camp in Jammu, managed by Jammu and Kashmir Police's security wing. This initiative aims to guarantee the safe commencement of the annual pilgrimage from June 28.

The 52-day pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath cave shrine, standing at an elevation of 3,880 meters, will start from two routes: the traditional 48-kilometer Nunwan-Pahalgam track in Anantnag and the 14-kilometer steeper Baltal route in Ganderbal, beginning June 29.

Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dr. Vinod Kumar, confirmed that extensive security arrangements are in place at the base camp in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The highway for the yatra is also secured, with Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) activated and high-rise buildings dominated for surveillance. For continuous monitoring, body scanners and CCTV cameras, including 360-degree units, have been installed. Paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure an incident-free yatra.
