Arson and Gunfire: Masterminds Nabbed After Police Encounter in Izzatnagar

Two masterminds of an arson and firing incident in Izzatnagar were arrested following a police encounter. The violence broke out over land possession and led to a shootout. The masterminds, Yadav and Lodhi, have multiple criminal cases. Seven officers were suspended for negligence.

In a dramatic turn of events, two masterminds behind the violent arson and shooting incident in Izzatnagar have been apprehended. The arrest followed a brief encounter with the police team, sparking public interest and concern.

The incident, which dates back to June 22, escalated from a land possession dispute between two groups. Rajiv Rana, one of the accused, ignited the violence by setting two JCB machines on fire, further aggravating the situation near Aditya Upadhyay's marble shop. The conflict quickly spiraled into an exchange of gunfire.

A video capturing the chaos surfaced online, leading to the arrest of KP Yadav and Subhash Lodhi, identified as the mastermind duo. Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati confirmed that they sustained bullet wounds and are currently receiving medical care. Both suspects have a notorious history with numerous criminal cases filed against them.

The fallout from the incident led to the suspension of seven police officers, including the Station House Officer of Izzatnagar Police Station, for negligence. The state's Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan, was also shunted. As the investigation continues, over 26 individuals from both groups, including Rana and Upadhyay, have been taken into custody.
