In a tragic incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead three labourers at a brick kiln in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan on Monday, according to local police reports.

The attack occurred within the jurisdiction of Ghaznikhel police station in Lakki Marwat district, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officials who transported the bodies to the district headquarters hospital.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the heinous act. Police have launched an investigation and registered a case to determine the motives behind the triple murder. The provincial Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has taken notice of the incident and directed the police to expedite the arrest of the culprits.

Last week, the same province witnessed the abduction of four labourers by unknown gunmen in the Tank district, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. District Police Officer Abdus Salam Khalid noted that while nine abductees were released, efforts are underway to secure the release of the remaining four workers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district remains a hotspot for terrorist and militant activities, posing significant risks to security forces, police, and government officials alike.
