An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan on Monday issued a stern warning to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other PTI leaders. The warning, issued by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, declared that the leaders would be labeled 'absconders' if they did not appear for the next court hearing on July 8.
The cases involve allegations of vandalism and violations of Section 144 of the CrPC, filed at Islamabad's Sangjani and I-9 police stations. During the hearing, several PTI leaders including Faisal Javed Khan, Ali Nawaz Awan, Wasiq Qayyum, and Aamer Kiani appeared before the court, while exemption pleas were submitted by Gandapur and PTI leader Amir Mughal.
Judge Supra dismissed the exemption pleas, asserting that such excuses wouldn't be entertained. The court emphasized personal responsibility in attendance and sought a written reply from the Superintendent of Adiala Jail about the possibility of PTI founder Imran Khan appearing via video link. The next hearing is set for daily sessions starting July 8.
