Cambodian Court Convicts 10 Environmental Activists

A Cambodian court sentenced 10 environmental activists to prison on charges of plotting against the government and insulting the king. Five members of the Mother Nature conservation group were arrested immediately after the verdict. The group's founder, Alejandro Gonzales-Davidson, confirmed the arrests.

A Cambodian court convicted and sentenced to prison 10 environmental activists on Tuesday on charges including plotting against the government and insulting the country's king, the activist group's lawyer and its founder said.

Five of the defendants from the conservation group Mother Nature were arrested outside the court immediately after the verdict, founder Alejandro Gonzales-Davidson told Reuters.
