Newborn Twins Found Dead With Slit Throats in J&K's Poonch Village

Throat-slit bodies of newborn twins were discovered at a house in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The father has been detained for questioning. The bodies were sent for autopsy, with police awaiting results to continue the investigation into the brutal murders.

In a gruesome incident, the bodies of newborn twins with slit throats were found in their house in the remote village of Chajjla-Keyani in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Wednesday, according to an official statement.

The father of the female infants has been detained for questioning as investigations proceed. Mendhar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bhupinder Kumar said that a team was dispatched to the scene upon receiving information about the horrifying discovery.

The bodies have been moved to the sub-district hospital in Mendhar for post-mortem examinations. Block Medical Officer Ashfaq Choudhary noted that a board of doctors is conducting the autopsies, after which the bodies will be handed over to the police for further inquiries.
