Mihir Shah, the primary suspect in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run incident, has confessed to driving during the crash that resulted in a woman's death and her husband's injury, according to police sources.

Despite other motorists' desperate attempts to stop him, Shah continued driving recklessly. It has been revealed that Shah attempted to disguise himself by shaving his beard and trimming his hair to avoid identification, authorities said Wednesday.

The 24-year-old, currently in police custody until July 16, claims to possess a driving licence, although the document has yet to be recovered. Statements from 14 individuals, including Shah's immediate family, have been recorded. The police plan to reconstruct the crime scene in their ongoing investigation.
