Three people were fatally shot in Alameda, California, on Wednesday night with a person of interest currently in custody, according to the Alameda Police Department.

APD stated on Facebook that they received a call from an individual reporting their neighbor had been shot on the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim and, while clearing the residence, found multiple family members, including juveniles, suffering from gunshot wounds. Police have not yet provided a motive for the shooting.

“We are deeply saddened to report that three victims did not survive, and additional family members are being treated at local hospitals,” the police revealed in their statement. There is no indication of any further threat to the public, and an investigation is underway.
