BJP leader C T Ravi on Thursday criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, labeling his defense in the alleged fraudulent allotment of sites by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) as “dishonest.'' The controversy revolves around plots allocated to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi.

The MLC accused the CM of “recklessly defending the corruption.'' Ravi stated, “The Chief Minister’s conduct in response to allegations of MUDA sites is of intelligent defense and not honesty. This involves both the CM and his wife.”

Addressing reporters, Ravi reiterated, “The CM seems to be recklessly defending corruption. His answers regarding the allegations are dishonest and defending lies.” The disputed compensatory sites were allocated to Parvathi in an upscale Mysuru area, which is more valuable than her original land seized by MUDA.

Under a controversial 50:50 ratio scheme, MUDA allotted plots to Parvathi in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land used to develop a residential layout. Ravi pointed out that purchasing notified land is illegal, yet Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law bought it and later transferred it to Parvathi as a gift.

“Even during the gift transfer, the records indicated that the land was in MUDA’s name. Siddaramaiah’s influence is evident here,” Ravi alleged. Additionally, the former BJP national general secretary claimed the 3.16 acres of land were not disclosed in Siddaramaiah's 2013 assembly election affidavit.
