Radical Preacher's Brother Arrested in Drug Case as Investigations Progress
Radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh's brother Harpreet Singh has been arrested in a drug case by Jalandhar police. Amritpal Singh, currently in prison under the National Security Act, won the Khadoor Sahib seat as an independent in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Further investigations are ongoing.

Radical Sikh preacher and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh's brother, Harpreet Singh, has been apprehended by Jalandhar police in a drug-related case, according to a senior police official.
Harpreet Singh was detained by Jalandhar Rural police on Thursday evening after being found in possession of drugs.
Amritpal Singh, lodged in a prison in Assam's Dibrugarh district for offences under the National Security Act, was recently flown to Delhi on a four-day custody parole to take his oath as a Lok Sabha member. He won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Khadoor Sahib seat, defeating Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira. Amritpal Singh, the leader of the 'Waris Punjab De' outfit, was arrested in Moga's Rode village following a clash with police personnel at the Ajnala police station.
Further police investigations into the drug case are ongoing.
