Police on Friday successfully rescued a 6-month-old boy who was kidnapped from Nagpur railway station the previous day, an official confirmed.

The kidnapper, a woman, had gained the trust of the child's parents as they were waiting to board a train to Gondia. She subsequently fled with the baby on Thursday morning.

Using CCTV footage, police identified the woman boarding a train with the child and shared the images with police units between Nagpur and Wardha. The woman was apprehended in Pusla village, Warud, located in Amravati district, according to a railway police official.

Inspector Manisha Kashid revealed that the woman intended to raise the child due to her domestic issues. The baby will be handed back to his parents on Saturday morning.
