Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hosted an informal Media lunch at his residence, bringing together print and electronic journalists from various prominent publications and channels. This event provided a unique opportunity for an exchange of views on a wide range of subjects and the sharing of ideas on current topics.

The luncheon meeting was marked by a vibrant exchange of views, with journalists offering their inputs on various policy matters and current affairs. The Minister sought feedback on areas where collaborative efforts could enhance governance and public service delivery.

In a welcoming address, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who holds multiple ministerial responsibilities including Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, the PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, emphasized the importance of such interactions. "I am delighted to have this opportunity to engage with all of you today. Your role as journalists is vital in a democracy, and informal conversations like these are essential to understand each other better and work towards our common national goals," he said.

Dr. Jitendra Singh acknowledged the crucial role played by the media in informing the public and shaping public opinion. When asked about the new reforms under Modi Govt. 3.0, Dr. Singh highlighted the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024, enacted to tackle unfair practices in central recruitment and educational institution entrance exams. He assured a zero-tolerance policy by the government in such cases and emphasized the aspiration for meritocracy. Additionally, he discussed the government's focus on upgrading the skills and capacity building of Civil Servants, highlighting a shift from rule to role in governance.

The event also included beat journalists covering Science and Technology, Space, and Earth Sciences, who inquired about India's space missions, deep sea mission, and next-generation technologies. The Minister shared current developments and highlighted the progress in science and technology, emphasizing the Anusandhan National Research Foundation's role in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors. He noted the success in the space sector following the encouragement of private participation, with 200 space startups emerging in just two years. Furthermore, Dr. Singh mentioned that India's bio-economy has grown 13-fold over the last decade, from $10 billion in 2014 to over $130 billion in 2024.

On the topic of energy security, Dr. Singh announced, "India's nuclear power generation capacity will increase by around 70 percent in the next five years."

Discussing pensions and pensioners' welfare, Dr. Singh highlighted Prime Minister Modi's sensitivity to senior citizens' concerns. He mentioned initiatives such as Pension Adalats and measures to empower unmarried and divorced daughters and widows through pensions. Dr. Singh also emphasized the need for a humane approach in governance and shared the human feedback model adopted by the ministry after the redressal of grievances.

The gathering fostered an atmosphere of constructive dialogue, allowing for insightful conversations that delved into the government's initiatives, upcoming legislative priorities, and broader vision for the nation's development. The Minister's engagement with journalists on a range of topics underscored a commitment to transparency and accountability, and the importance of constructive criticism in the democratic process.
