Woman Arrested for Allegedly Drowning Child After Quarrel with Mother

In a shocking incident in Bijnor district, a woman named Roshan was arrested for allegedly drowning a 3-year-old boy following an argument with the child's mother, police reported on Saturday.

The boy's mother, Tarannum, reported her son Arsalan missing to the Chandpur police station on Friday afternoon, according to Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun. Following this, the family pointed fingers at Roshan, their neighbor, who had recently quarreled with Tarannum.

During police interrogation, Roshan confessed to throwing Arsalan into a pond after the heated exchange. Authorities have since recovered the child's body and sent it for post-mortem examination. An ongoing investigation is in progress, SP Jadaun confirmed.
