Tragedy at Wedding: Youth Stabbed to Death Amid Dispute

A 21-year-old man was fatally stabbed and another injured following a dispute with guests at a wedding function, police reported on Sunday.

An enraged crowd later surrounded the wedding venue, accusing the guests of attacking the youths, leading to police intervention.

The incident occurred late Saturday when Rohit Kanaujia and Shobhit engaged in an argument with individuals from the wedding procession near their home, which escalated into violence. Both were taken to the district hospital in critical condition; Kanaujia was declared dead, and Shobhit was referred to Baba Raghav Das Medical College.

The wedding, which was moving from Arya Nagar to Agrawal Bhavan, continued under the protection of Kotwali police. Authorities are now searching for the accused with the assistance of CCTV footage, according to Gorakhpur Additional Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi.
