Punjab Police Busts Interstate Weapon Smuggling Ring

Punjab Police successfully dismantled an interstate weapon smuggling operation linked to Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa. Two operatives were arrested, and six pistols were recovered. The investigation is ongoing to uncover more connections and arrests.

Punjab Police on Monday announced the dismantling of an interstate weapon smuggling module linked to Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa. The operation resulted in the arrest of two operatives and the recovery of six pistols, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.

Yadav highlighted that the intelligence-based operation led to the apprehension and seizure of sophisticated pistols, magazines, and ammunition. He shared the information on X, confirming the arrests and the recovery of the weapons.

A case has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar. Further investigation is aimed at uncovering the backward and forward linkages of the module, with efforts ongoing to arrest the remaining operatives and dismantle the illegal racket operating from Madhya Pradesh. Yadav emphasized that stern action would be taken against those involved in organized crime and illegal weapon networks.
