Arunachal Pradesh Moves to Reform Recruitment Procedures
The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has approved a draft bill to curb malpractices in recruitment exams. The legislation proposes stringent punishments including imprisonment and fines up to Rs 1 crore. It aims to ensure a fair selection process for state government posts. The bill will be tabled on July 19.

The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet on Monday approved a legislation aimed at eliminating malpractices in recruitment examinations, officials disclosed.
The draft bill, which advocates for severe penalties including imprisonment and fines up to Rs 1 crore, is expected to be presented in the upcoming assembly session from July 19.
Upon enactment, the bill will secure a transparent selection process for all state government posts and address examination malpractices, according to a Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) statement.
The cabinet also sanctioned a proposal to integrate diverse post categories into a unified cadre under the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB).
This move aims to ensure systematic human resource management within the APSSB, fostering a fair recruitment process, the statement noted.
Later, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his cabinet were briefed by the Director General of Police (DGP) and senior officials on the key features and implementation strategy of three newly introduced criminal laws.
