Jaishankar Calls for Strong Action Against Terrorism at SCO Summit

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has called for identifying and punishing the perpetrators, facilitators, financiers, and sponsors of terrorism, with a pointed reference to Pakistan. He emphasized the fight against terrorism, separatism, and extremism at the SCO Summit held in Astana, stressing the importance of collective action and coordination among member states.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has underscored the urgent need to identify and punish those involved in terrorism, specifically pointing towards Pakistan, during an interview with Kazinform News Agency.

Jaishankar highlighted the priorities of combating terrorism, separatism, and extremism in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), especially during the 24th Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State held in Astana.

He praised Kazakhstan for negotiating an updated program to combat these issues and emphasized the importance of actual implementation. Additionally, he touched on the SCO Anti-Drug Strategy, linking drug trafficking with terrorism and regional stability, specifically in Afghanistan.
