Mumbai police on Tuesday apprehended Viral Shah, a 32-year-old engineer from Gujarat, over a social media post he made about a bomb threat at the wedding of Anant Ambani, industrialist Mukesh Ambani's youngest son, last week, according to an official statement.

The accused, a resident of Vadodara, was identified and detained by the Mumbai police's crime branch from his home in Gujarat.

The police heightened security after the X user @ffsfir posted a potentially threatening message about a bomb going off at the high-profile wedding, prompting an investigation. The accused was traced to Vadodara, and a team was dispatched to arrest him. The wedding, held on July 12 at Mumbai's Jio World Convention Centre, saw attendance from global celebrities, politicians, and top cricketers from India.
