Customs officials have arrested two men for allegedly attempting to smuggle 59 iPhones and luxury brand goggles into the country. The suspects were intercepted at the airport upon their arrival from Milan, Italy, on Sunday, according to a customs department statement released on Tuesday.
During a thorough personal search and examination of their baggage, officials recovered 59 iPhones, two AirPods, an iPad Air, three pairs of Gucci goggles, and a pair of Gucci sneakers from the passengers.
The seized items, worth Rs 69.22 lakh, were confiscated, and the two men have been arrested, the statement added.
