In Kushinagar, three men were arrested following an encounter, while two others remain at large, in a disturbing gang-rape case involving two women, according to police reports on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Neeraj, Kallu, and Ajay, were apprehended after the assault, which occurred on Tuesday night as the women and their manager were returning home after a performance. The women are natives of Punjab and work as dancers.
The police acted on a tip-off, leading to an encounter where Neeraj was injured. The other two suspects, Karamveer Nishad and Sant Nishad, are still at large. An active search and investigation are ongoing.
