The Congress on Thursday criticized a Muzaffarnagar Police order instructing eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route to display their owners' names, deeming it an 'assault on India's culture'.
Accusing the BJP-RSS of fostering communal divisions, Congress stated the order aims to normalize the economic boycott of Muslims.
Muzaffarnagar Police chief Abhishek Singh clarified the order was to avoid confusion among kanwariyas and maintain law order. Congress' Pawan Khera argued the move targets minority communities and vowed to resist such policies.
