In a heart-wrenching incident, businessman Bhavesh Nagin Seth, 56, allegedly committed suicide by leaping off the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai police reported on Thursday.
Seth, a resident of Ghatkopar, made a WhatsApp video call to his 22-year-old son moments before ending his life, citing financial stress as a probable cause. A suicide note addressed to his son was recovered.
The incident occurred at 3:15 pm on Wednesday. Seth asked for a lift at the toll plaza, claiming car trouble. He alighted midway, made the call, and then jumped into the sea. After his son contacted police, authorities retrieved Seth's body three hours later. The Bandra police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
