Nagpur Police Department, collaborating with a private company, unveiled an AI-powered tool named SIMBA on Thursday. The city's police chief, Ravinder Singhal, emphasized that SIMBA aims to revolutionize investigative processes.

Developed in partnership with Staqu Technologies, SIMBA stands for System Integrated for Monitoring and Big data Analysis. This tool, equipped with a digitized database of 1.50 lakh criminals, offers swift and customized information based on specific prompts using features like facial recognition and speaker identification.

The tool was introduced as a part of Crime GPT. Commissioner Singhal highlighted that the new technology enhances public security and law enforcement efficiency by providing real-time alerts. Atul Rai, CEO of Staqu Technologies, expressed pride in collaborating with the Nagpur Police to strengthen homeland security using advanced AI technology.
