Search Intensifies for Missing Kerala Lorry Driver Amid Landslide in Karnataka

Efforts are ongoing in Karnataka's Shirur village to find Arjun, a lorry driver from Kerala, feared missing after a landslide. Six bodies have been recovered so far. Despite continuous rain hampering operations, authorities are making every effort to trace the missing individual. High-level coordination is ongoing to expedite rescue efforts.

Search operations are in full swing in Shirur village, Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district, to locate Arjun, a lorry driver from Kerala feared missing after a devastating landslide. Six bodies have already been recovered, police confirmed on Friday.

Arjun, a native of Kozhikode, is among those feared trapped under the debris. Superintendent of Police (Karwar), Narayana M, stated that ongoing rains are complicating rescue efforts, but expressed hope that missing individuals, including Arjun, would be found soon.

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has instructed Chief Secretary Dr. V Venu to stay in constant contact with local authorities. Efforts are being expedited following conversations between Kerala's Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
