Two men were arrested in Haryana on Friday for allegedly purchasing an 11-year-old girl from her aunt three years ago, according to police officials. The suspects, identified as Sandeep Yadav and Satveer Yadav, reportedly paid Rs 2 lakh for the child, said Murlipura SHO Sunil Kumar.
The victim, now a teenager, became a mother of two children by the ages of 12 and 14, Kumar added. The men allegedly created an Aadhaar card with false information for her, police disclosed. The girl was able to escape and reported the incident to the Murlipura police on Tuesday.
A case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and other relevant sections. The minor revealed she initially lived with her parents in Murlipura but moved in with her aunt in Neemrana after a family dispute. Instead of caring for her, the aunt sold her to a family in Haryana, the officer said. Efforts are ongoing to locate the absconding aunt.
