Meanwhile, intense fighting with Hamas militants in Rafah, located in the southern part of Gaza, led to the death of five more residents, according to health officials.

Now in its tenth month, the conflict has seen an escalation in Israeli aerial and tank shelling over the past week. Witnesses report that the Israeli army has destroyed numerous homes in central Gaza in recent days. Health officials confirmed that eight individuals were killed in two separate airstrikes on Friday.

In Rafah, where Israel is targeting the last battalions of Hamas' armed wing, fierce gun battles were reported. Medical sources stated that five people were killed by Israeli fire and transported to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
