Air Marshal A P Singh emphasized the critical need for self-reliance in India's defence sector without compromising national security. Speaking at a CAPS seminar, he highlighted the significance of swift technological advancements and collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to ensure robust national defence in the face of global geopolitical uncertainties.

Air Marshal A P Singh, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, emphasized the imperative for self-reliance in India's defence sector at a CAPS seminar on Friday. He cautioned that 'atmanirbharata' should not come at the expense of national security.

Singh highlighted the role of entities such as DRDO and private industries in bolstering the defence capabilities of the armed forces. He underscored that the defence of the nation is a collective responsibility, extending beyond military personnel to include all stakeholders.

Reflecting on global conflicts, including the Russia-Ukraine war, Singh stressed the need for continuous modernization and agility in defence strategies. He urged for faster procurement rates to narrow the gap with adversaries and advocated for a united approach to optimize resources and improve defence systems.
