Tragic Case of Assault: Teenager's Ordeal in Moving Car

A 13-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district was allegedly raped in a moving car by a man she befriended on social media, with another person filming the horrific act, police confirmed on Saturday.

Authorities have apprehended two of the three suspects in connection with the incident, which took place within the Mohna police station limits on June 1. However, a formal complaint was only lodged on Thursday, officials said. The young victim, a Class 9 student, became acquainted with one of the accused on Instagram and was subsequently introduced to the others. They communicated with her extensively online, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Niranjan Sharma.

On June 1, the three men met the girl at her village and coerced her into their vehicle. During the ordeal, one suspect allegedly raped her while another filmed it, with the third driving the car. The perpetrators later threatened to release the video if the girl did not meet their demands. When she resisted, the video was disseminated, alerting her family to the abuse.

Two suspects are now in custody, and a search is ongoing for the third. The mobile phone and car used during the crime have been seized, officials added.
