Tightened Security Measures for Kanwar Yatra Begin

Security measures for the Kanwar Yatra, starting Monday, have been tightened. The area is divided into super zones, zones, and sectors for better crowd management. Deployed security includes ASP-level officials, dog squads, drones, and CCTV cameras. Anshuman and Nagnyal addressed the police personnel to ensure a successful and safe event.

Security measures for the Kanwar Yatra, kicking off on Monday, have been significantly tightened, ensuring strict surveillance at every step. ADG (law and order) AP Anshuman revealed that the fair area has been meticulously divided into 13 super zones, 31 zones, and 126 sectors for optimal crowd management.

Anshuman emphasized that responsibility has been entrusted to ASP-level officials for managing the super zones, while circle officers, inspectors, and sub-inspectors handle crowd control within the zones and sectors. Additionally, four dog squads, 22 drones, and numerous CCTV cameras will monitor the area closely. Water police, bomb disposal squads, and mounted police will also be stationed to enhance security.

As lakhs of Shiva devotees flock to Haridwar during 'sawan' to collect Ganga water, a crucial meeting led by ADG Anshuman and IG Garhwal KS Nagnyal ensured detailed guidelines and arrangements. Emphasis was placed on preventing rumors, maintaining systematic traffic plans, and monitoring anti-social behaviors. Retired police personnel’s services are also being utilized to ensure a seamless and secure Kanwar Yatra.
