Uttarakhand Government Considers Reservation for Returning Agniveers

The Uttarakhand government is contemplating offering reservations to Agniveers, who have completed four years in the Army, for roles in police and other government departments. Alongside this, a skill development scheme is in the works to facilitate their employment. The Chief Minister emphasized the state's commitment to providing ample job opportunities for Agniveers.

The Uttarakhand government is considering providing reservations for Agniveers returning after four years of Army service to accommodate them in police and other government departments.

A government release confirmed that a proposal for their reservation is nearing finalization.

Additionally, a skill development scheme is being prepared to offer employment-related training to Agniveers. The Chief Minister has directed officials to expedite the proposal's preparation.

Highlighting Uttarakhand's tradition of youth joining the Army, the Chief Minister assured that every effort will be made to employ Agniveers after their service.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government's intent to ensure Agniveers have ample job opportunities in the state after their Army tenure.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister reiterated during a program that returning Agniveers will be accommodated in various departments.

On June 15, 2022, he announced on 'X' that the government would prioritize Agniveers for roles in state departments, including the police.

He also mentioned the possibility of introducing legislation if needed to accommodate Agniveers.
