A 13-year-old boy from Thane city, Maharashtra, ran away from home after his mother scolded and beat him. Fortunately, he was reunited with his family hours later, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

On the evening of July 19, three members of the GRP’s Nirbhaya cell spotted the boy sitting alone on a bench at platform number 6 of the Thane railway station. Senior Inspector Arshuddin Sheikh of the GRP crime branch reported that the child explained he had fled his home due to his mother's actions.

The GRP officials took the boy to their police station, provided him with counseling, and contacted his parents. His father arrived at the station, and after verifying the boy's identity, they handed the child back to his family, concluding a brief but intense ordeal.
