The government on Tuesday announced a significant boost in the defence budget for the financial year 2024-25, increasing the allocation to Rs 6,21,940 crore from last year's Rs 5.94 lakh crore.
The capital outlay is set at Rs 1,72,000 crore, aiming to enhance the Armed Forces' capabilities substantially.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted that Rs 1,05,518 crore is earmarked for domestic capital procurement, reinforcing the push towards atmanirbharta in the sector.
