Tragedy at Vashi: Rape Case Filed After Teen Dies in Childbirth

A rape case has been filed after an 18-year-old girl died in childbirth. The crime occurred in Dighi, Raigad district, and resulted in the death of both the mother and her newborn. The accused, Hemant from Shriwardhan, has not been arrested yet. Investigations are ongoing.

A grave incident has surfaced in Vashi where an 18-year-old girl tragically died during childbirth. The Vashi police station registered the case, which has since been transferred to Dighi police station in Raigad district, where the crime took place, according to official sources.

The accused, identified as Hemant from Shriwardhan, had met the victim at a computer class last year. Following two alleged incidents of rape, the girl became pregnant, leading to the tragedy. The complaint was lodged by her parents.

On July 18, the victim was discovered in a pool of blood with her newborn male infant by her side. Both were pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital. Authorities have filed a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section 64 and continue to investigate, although no arrests have been made yet.
