On Tuesday, Pakistani authorities sealed the central office of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party, citing safety standard violations.

Islamabad's Metropolitan Corporation enforced the closure on Monday as legal challenges against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and its founder intensified.

A notice affixed to the gate of the G-8-4 area office stated that the building had been sealed according to section 5(3) of Islamabad Fire Prevention and Life Safety Regulations 2010, signed by a local magistrate.

This action followed a police raid on the office that resulted in the arrest of PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan.
