Two drug smugglers were apprehended near the Nepal border as authorities seized heroin worth Rs 1 crore. The suspects, Ziaul Haq and Siraj, both of Indian origin, were detained after a joint operation by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and police on Tuesday night.
Officials reported that the duo was intercepted near the Nepalganj Road Railway Station in the Rupaidiha area. An ensuing search revealed approximately 140 grams of heroin, valued at Rs 1 crore in the international market.
Deputy Commandant Dileep Kumar of SSB confirmed that a case has been filed against the two under relevant sections of the Narcotics Act at Rupaidiha police station.
