Kanwariyas Clash with E-Rickshaw Driver: Tensions in Haridwar

Over a dozen Kanwariyas assaulted an e-rickshaw driver, Sanjay Kumar, and damaged his vehicle with bamboo sticks in Haridwar district. The incident, captured in a PTI video, occurred near a mill in Libberhedi area. Police have registered a case under various sections of Bharatiya Nyay Samhita.

In Haridwar district, tensions erupted as over a dozen Kanwariyas allegedly assaulted an e-rickshaw driver, identified as Sanjay Kumar, and vandalized his vehicle using bamboo sticks. This occurred on Tuesday afternoon near a mill in the Libberhedi area, along the Delhi highway in Manglaur, officials reported.

A PTI video captured the incident showing around a dozen Kanwariyas attacking the e-rickshaw while police officers attempted to calm the situation. The conflict arose after Sanjay Kumar allegedly hit one of the devotees, who was unharmed.

Authorities have registered a case at the Manglaur police station against unknown Shiv devotees under different sections of Bharatiya Nyay Samhita. The investigation is ongoing.
