BJP Corporator Accused of Sexual Abuse in Disturbing Case

A case has been registered against BJP corporator Nitin Sharma for allegedly sexually abusing a woman under the pretense of providing her with financial aid and a government job. The woman claimed the abuse occurred between May 2023 and April 2024. No arrests have been made; the investigation is ongoing.

A rape case was filed on Wednesday against Nitin Sharma, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator, who is accused of sexually abusing a woman after promising financial aid and a government job, according to police sources. The victim, aged 32, lodged her complaint at Dwarkapuri police station.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that Sharma assaulted her repeatedly from May 10, 2023, to April 16, 2024, and also threatened her life. Official records confirm that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Sharma under IPC sections 376 and 506; however, no arrest has been made so far.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotia mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, and subsequent legal actions will depend on the results of the inquiry.
