Murder at Worli Spa: A Tale of Crime and Betrayal

A 52-year-old man, Guru Waghmare, was murdered at a Worli spa by two unidentified assailants. Known for his criminal record and claims of being a police informer, Waghmare was attacked with sharp weapons. Police have detained four of his associates for questioning as the investigation continues.

A 52-year-old man with an extensive criminal record was murdered inside a spa in Worli by two unidentified persons in the early hours of Wednesday, according to police.

The deceased, identified as Guru Waghmare, claimed to be a police informer and Right to Information activist. He had multiple cases, including rape and extortion, registered against him.

Waghmare, a Vile Parle resident, was a regular at the spa. On Tuesday evening, he visited the spa with a 21-year-old woman and three male friends to celebrate his recent birthday. The group later went to a hotel in Sion before returning to the spa. Around 2.30 am, two men attacked Waghmare with sharp weapons, severely injuring him. Police found him in a pool of blood, with his throat slashed.

A murder case has been registered, and Waghmare's four friends have been detained for questioning. The victim had at least ten prior cases, including rape. Authorities had also started the process to extern him from municipal limits.
