Ukrainian Forces Thwart Russian Drone Attacks

Ukrainian forces neutralized 25 Russian attack drones out of 38 launched overnight, according to Ukraine's air force chief, Mykola Oleshchiuk, on Thursday.

Oleshchiuk reported that the enemy targeted Ukrainian infrastructure across several regions, including the Odesa region and central Ukraine, using Shahed-131/136 attack drones. He also mentioned that three drones crossed the state border with Romania but did not provide further details.

Romanian territory, close to the Ukrainian Danube port of Izmail, experienced drone attacks for the second consecutive night, wounding two individuals in Izmail district. Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions were also targeted, with air defense systems intercepting most of the drones. However, debris damaged multiple private houses and one infrastructure facility in Zhytomyr.

In Kyiv, all attacking drones were destroyed by air defense forces, resulting in no reported damage or casualties. However, in Kherson, a man was killed by a drone-dropped explosive in a separate assault. Despite Ukrainian control over much of Kherson since late 2022, Russian forces continue to attack from positions across the Dnipro River.
