Police Neutralize Maoist in Intense Forest Encounter

In a fierce encounter on Thursday, Telangana police killed a Maoist during a combing operation in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Mulugu district forest area. Ten ultras allegedly fired upon police, who retaliated, resulting in one Maoist's death. Authorities continue their search as the deceased's identity is confirmed.

In a high-stakes encounter on Thursday, Telangana police successfully neutralized a Maoist insurgent during a combing operation in the dense forest area between Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Mulugu districts. The police team encountered around 10 ultras, who reportedly opened fire without provocation. In the ensuing exchange, one Maoist was killed.

The police recovered one body and two weapons from the scene, a senior official informed PTI. The insurgent group, said to number around ten, fled the scene amidst the firefight. The deceased is believed to be from the Mulugu district, although his identity is still being confirmed.

Authorities continue their search operation in the area, aiming to track down the remaining ultras. This encounter underscores ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the region.
