Today, the Ministry of Women and Child Development hosted a post-budget webinar to outline the Government's policy initiatives aimed at enhancing women's participation in the workforce and the budgetary allocations for Women-led Development.

In her inaugural address, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi, reiterated the Government's commitment to women-led development. She emphasized that under Prime Minister's leadership, the focus is on ensuring women's physical and mental well-being, expanding their skills and income opportunities, and fostering self-reliance. Additionally, the Government aims to provide quality childcare facilities in a safe environment, supporting children's nutrition, health, and cognitive development while aiding working mothers in advancing their careers.

For the financial year 2024-25, the Government has allocated Rs 3.3 lakh crore across various Ministries and Departments specifically for the welfare and empowerment of women. These funds are intended to enhance efforts to increase women's workplace participation, ensure their safety and security, and establish facilities such as working women's hostels and crèches.

The webinar featured presentations from the Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, as well as representatives from UN Women, the World Bank, and other organizations. They highlighted the key features of the Union Budget related to women. Additionally, several State Governments shared best practices and innovative approaches for providing hostel and crèche facilities for working women.

The event, held at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, was attended by stakeholders from all States and Union Territories and was also accessible online at https://webcast.gov.in/mwcd.

The Ministry remains dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for women-led development across the country.
