Uttar Pradesh Ramps Up Security for Kanwar Yatra
To ensure the safety of kanwariyas returning from Haridwar, Uttar Pradesh has deployed Anti-Terrorism Squad commandos, Rapid Action Force, and Provincial Armed Constabulary teams along the Kanwar route. The measures aim to prevent any untoward incidents, with a focus on sensitive areas such as Shiv Chowk in Muzaffarnagar.

Uttar Pradesh is ramping up security measures for the ongoing Kanwar Yatra by deploying Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) commandos, the Rapid Action Force (RAF), and teams of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) along the Kanwar route.
Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Singh stated that ATS commandos are stationed at Shiv Chowk in Muzaffarnagar, a key area where Kanwariyas from Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and various districts of Uttar Pradesh will pass while returning from Haridwar and performing parikrama. Sensitive locations near Shiv Chowk have been particularly focused on to avoid any adverse incidents.
A comprehensive security arrangement includes a team from RAF, six PAC teams, and ATS commandos to ensure a peaceful pilgrimage as the Kanwar Yatra began on July 22.
