Lok Sabha Speaker Emphasizes the Role of Judiciary in Strengthening Democracy

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, speaking at the Platinum Jubilee of Rajasthan High Court, highlighted the continued trust people have in the judiciary. He emphasized the need for affordable, accessible, and speedy justice, and stressed the importance of democracy's three pillars working together. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed satisfaction with the trust people place in the nation's courts and judges at the Platinum Jubilee of Rajasthan High Court.

Despite significant advancements in affordable and accessible justice, Birla emphasized the journey isn't complete until swift justice reaches every citizen. He praised India's democracy, noting its consolidation despite diverse challenges and growth from a Rs 175 crore budget in 1947 to Rs 48 lakh crore today.

Highlighting the judiciary's role, Birla urged collaboration among the democracy's three pillars—Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary—while maintaining independence. He appealed for the justice system to leverage technology for speedy case resolutions and welcomed new criminal laws aimed at quicker justice.
