Mob Vandalizes Police Station after Speeding Dispute

A mob of 100 people attacked a police station, vandalized property, and assaulted an officer following a dispute between a shopkeeper and policemen over speeding at a checkpoint. A mob of about 100 individuals stormed a police station, vandalizing property and assaulting law enforcement officers following a heated argument stemming from a speeding dispute, officials said on Sunday.

The incident, occurring Saturday night, involved the mob breaking into the Shingar police station, damaging property, and injuring two officers, including Assistant Sub-Inspector Surinder Singh.

Police reported that the conflict began at a checkpoint where the shopkeeper, riding a scooter with his son, was stopped for speeding. After angry exchanges, the shopkeeper was taken to the station but managed to flee. He later returned with a group to attack the station. Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify the assailants.
