The Rajasthan government is set to utilize remote sensing and drones to survey obstructions and encroachments in the entire flow area of Ramgarh Dam, as stated by Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat in the Assembly on Monday.
In compliance with the High Court's directive, the state government has established a district-level committee chaired by the Jaipur District Collector to oversee the continuous monitoring and supervision of the dam's flow and catchment area. Rawat emphasized that the committee is actively working to mark and remove obstructions and encroachments as per regulations.
Responding to an attention motion by BJP's Kalicharan Saraf during Zero Hour, Rawat pointed out the ongoing issue of resorts and permanent constructions by influential individuals in the dam's flow area. The minister highlighted that 323.30 hectares of land have already been cleared of encroachments, and ongoing efforts will ensure the area is kept clear.
